First of all, I’m using the name Jehovah for practical reasons as it is the name that is mostly used to call the God that Moses worshiped. You can call it or write it as you wish ( Yahweh, Jahveh, YHWH or whatever as what I mean is the character named with the Hebrew letters ,יהוה), as for the intent of this article, the pronunciation of his name is irrelevant.
I wrote this article as I felt a limit of patience about all that religious naivety that makes people unaware of what they’re dealing with when they adhere or remain in a religious belief that takes Moses as a prophet of the same God that Jesus called “my heavenly father”.
Why am I writing this?
Because I want to be part of the change to have a more peaceful world and I believe that ignorance of what triggers violence the most is the main reason why so much sadness and cruelty keeps manifesting in our lives.
I imagine that most of you have noticed that religious thinking has played an important role in violent behavior. If it is not the case, maybe this article is useless as a following step into resolving the problem.
It would be too long to go on explaining in detail why wars and cruelty are especially nourished by moral and religious thinking. For now I’ll only assume that you have noticed that the most important violent behaviors that we see in the news are motivated by purposes of domination, greed and religious beliefs.
What is particularly my concern is the society closest to me in which violence is very present even if it is not so flagrant as war violence. Even the most subtle verbal violence has the same roots, fear of punishment and expectation of reward.
When we understand and dismantle the main motivation for a huge part of that violence there will be more reasons to celebrate.
Most of the populations including some of you, readers, ignore the traps that are seeded in the religious thinking which you may not even notice that moralistic judgments are part of the puppeteer strings that affect our behavior in a way that we unconsciously become part of the problem.
For those who are familiar with some spiritual paths it is known that being present in the now is such as desirable state of mind. And for that experience of presence to be, the monkey-mind chattering has to be stopped.
Moralistic judgments are obstacle to experience inner peace and being active part of the solutions. Resisting emotionally to whatever is, is a waste of time and accelerates physical and mental ageing at the same time we remain actively or passively part of the problem.
We have all being somehow, domesticated in a way that we learned to think in terms of good and bad, normal and abnormal, just or unjust in a very narrow way and we lose perspective of present needs and living with more joyful values and priorities than avoiding evil and being in a protective or defensive mode.
The point I want to make is that the most joyful and healthy attitude in life is to experience love, forgiveness and lightheartedness that we have lost because we bought into the ideology that we can determine for others what is good or bad for them and that by telling them or thinking I a righteous way we can improve something.
We may think we know what is best but it will makes us resist to accept reality as it is to remain inspired by pure love.
When Christians and Non-Christians experience judgmental thinking and moralistic judgment, that is especially ingrained and rooted especially in the values, rules and reasoning in most of the Old Testament, especially the books of Moses and his concept of God.
Most people who know enough about Jesus of Nazareth’s life and teachings, think of them as inspiring and so Christians become very zealous about that.
What most Christians and general public don’t know is that Jesus (as described in the New Testament) as well as Paul the apostle were completely opposite to Moses teachings and regulatory policies.
In my opinion, a loving Christian, radically engaged in the principles of unconditional love, forgiveness and presence, cannot keep his-her attention in Moses ideology at all.
When we conveniently adhere to Jesus teachings and accept some of the values from the OT, such as moralistic judgments, revenge , condemnation, or whatever non-loving thinking, they unknowingly fall in a trap that they don’t even perceive as such. Especially because they are not alone at all, and because most of the populations think the same way, they think they are right.
People can be right, but they are destructively right, unhealthily right, and unhappily right.
When you notice how intentional was to seed the (unloving) moralistic judgment into our minds for governing the people and you understand the effect of it in our consciousness, emotions and health, you will also find out that we cannot mix the OT paradigm with the one of the NT without losing the pureness, beauty and benefits of the latter.
So, you can notice the contrast between the message that most of the people agree with, from Jesus and the one of Moses that keeps influencing even our own behaviors to the extent of our fears still have control on our consciousness.
Take in account that at the time of the Old Testament, they believed in the existence of many gods but the followers of Moses were forced to worship just one.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. (or God and Jehovah)

Did you have enough to understand that YHWH is not the Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent consciousness, he is not pure Love and he is not even the God of everyone, he’s just a big egocentric entity, real or just imagined.
I want to emphasize that “Jesus heavenly father” is not Jehovah as it is evident for those who read the attributes of “Jesus God”
BTW, this Jehovah god is the same that Muslims call Allah and the severe and cruel ways that they may accept, come from the laws of Moses, such as the Sharia law, which is not in the Quran. Much of Sharia law is derived from the Hadith, which was written by Muslim scholars. The Hadith was the scholars’ interpretation of what they thought Mohammed wished for his followers.

Before showing the evil aspects of “The God of Moses” I’ll quote the chapter 3 of the second letter of Paul to the Corinthians in the New Testament so you can see that Paul, the man responsible for the spreading of the original Christianity was saying already at that time that the ministry of Christ was totaly opposite to the ministry of the Old Testament.

The Greater Glory of the New Covenant

Paul affirms that love for others is a complete fulfillment of God’s Law for us. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14
And how do we demonstrate our love for others? How do we put this love into action? By always treating others as we would like to be treated.
TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED. “So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is the law and the prophets.” Matthew 7:12

Notice the immense contrast between Jehovah with all the “evil you’re going to read” and “the Spirit of the Lord in which there is freedom”.
So the all sinful abominable being in the OT (YHWH) and the Spirit of love (Jesus heavenly father) in the NT are not the same character AT ALL.
Remember that Moses and the Israelites believe in the existence of many gods but worshiped one, so it means that YHWH is not The Creator but just another god, their god.
The NT was not found in Hebrew and the words I found in my Greek version were κυριος (Kyrios = Lord) or θεος (theos = god), not YHWH or anything like it. Only translations in English or in hebrew from the Greek may use the tetragrammaton. There are some scholars that theorize that the words κυριος (kirios) and θεος (theos) blurred the original distinction between the Lord God and the Lord Christ, but I believe that a distinction should be made between those two words and the Hebrew יהוה.
A bit of information about Satan
There is a divergence in what the Bible says about Satan. The Old Testament differs from the New Testament; in that the Old Testament never mentions any angel rebelling against God. In the New Testament, however, it talks about the rebellious angels being chained in a certain part of hell, until the end of time. Here are two examples of the contradiction between the Old and New Testament. In the sixth verse of Jude, the fallen angels were said to be chained after they rebelled by taking human wives, in Genesis 6. But in Genesis 6, this wasn’t mentioned. Even though Satan is said to be already bound, he is chained again “for 1,000 years” in Revelation 20:2.
So in some books of the OT Satan is one of the fallen angels referenced in Genesis 6, a rebellious evil doer, always opposing God. But in other books, like Job, Satan is a tester of people’s free will, doing only as God wants him to do.
The name “Satan” originally comes from the Hebrew verb “satan” that means “to obstruct” or “to oppose.” Because the Old Testament was written in Hebrew, the word “satan” also can mean in general “someone who obstructs.” Many times, a verse that was seen as a reference to Satan actually meant “a satan” or “an obstructer,” “an enemy” or “an adversary.”
Satan became the ruler of this world and the prince of the power of the air (John 12:31; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 2:2). He is an accuser (Revelation 12:10), a tempter (Matthew 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 3:5), and a deceiver (Genesis 3; 2 Corinthians 4:4

And a quote to prof that Jehovah doesn’t refer to the “Source of everything”, the word god in the OT is a tittle given to a certain entity :
“Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, `This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “`In the pride of your heart you say, “I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.” But you are a man and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god. Ezek 28:2

(Note: The biblical distinction between the “chosen people” and the gentiles is based on religion rather than ethnicity. Thus when Jesus of Nazareth refers to gentiles as “dogs” in Matthew 15:22-27 and Mark 7:26-28, he is demonstrating a theological prejudice.)

THE DARK SIDE OF JEHOVAH
Jehovah Equated with Satan
Note: Two curious passages in the Bible seem to equate Jehovah and Satan.
The passages, which refer to the same event in the history of Israel [King David orders a census of the "chosen people"], are as follows:

Jehovah Is Darkness
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! To what end is it for you? The day of the LORD is darkness, and not light. As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his band on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it? -Amos 5:18-20

The Devil - (Greek ho diabolos) : Following the use in Job and Zechariah in the Septuagint this title, “the Accuser”, is ascribed to Satan 32 times in the New Testament. The three other uses of the word are for humans - Judas, and gossips.(Revelation 12:9).[7]

Beelzebub - (Greek Beelzeboul) : In Matthew 10:25, Matthew 12:24, Mark 3:22, and openly in Luke 11:18-19 there is an implied connection between Satan and Beelzebub (originally a Semitic deity called Baal, and referred to as Baal-zebul, meaning lord of princes). Beelzebub (lit. Lord of the Flies) has now come to be analogous to Satan.
The Wicked One - (Greek ho poneros[8]) : Matthew 13:19–”Then cometh the wicked one.” Matthew 6:13, 1 John 5:19. This title suggests that Satan is one who is wicked himself. Abrahamic religions generally regarded sin as a physical manifestation of opposition to God, and therefore evil; dissent only comes from the topic of ‘where does sin come from?’[citation needed]
Prince of this World - (Greek ho Archōn tou kosmou toutou,[9] Latin Rex Mundi) : inJohn 12:31 and John 14:30.
The Tempter - (Greek ho peirazōn[10]) : Matthew 4:3–”And when the tempter came to him.” Also, 1Thessalonians 3:5
A liar - (Greek psěustēs[11]) : John 8:44–”He is a liar and the father of it.”
Belial - (Greek Belial) : in 2 Corinthians 6:15 ”What agreement does Christ have with Belial?” may be a reference to the Devil, or to eating idol meats. In the Old Testament, rebellious people and nonbelievers are sometimes called ‘sons of Belial’. See also Deuteronomy 13:13 Judges 20:13 1Samuel 2:12 2Samuel 23:61Kings 21:10 2Chronicles 13:7

Your adversary - (Greek antidikos) : in 1 Peter 5:8–”Your adversary the devil.” In the Christian worldview, Satan is the adversary of both God and the believers.[citation needed]
